Corexcel - Medical Terminology Online Course

Corexcel, formerly known as Inservice Training Institute, is an American provider of continuing education that was founded in 1984. The name was changed to Corexcel in 1998. Corexcel distributes profile assessments and training materials for organizations to evaluate their employees and present training sessions using their own in-house trainers. Corexcel also offers online courses for individuals and/or organizations to improve management, selling or basic interpersonal skills. Corexcel is accredited to award ANCC Nursing Contact Hours and IACET Professional Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

History

Inservice Training Institute (Corexcel) was founded in 1984 by Maureen E. Lauterbach. In 1997 the company was purchased by Momentum Management Group, Inc. and the name was changed shortly thereafter to Corexcel. Initially Corexcel offered public seminars for nurses and onsite training for the pharmaceutical industry. As the Internet grew in popularity during the early 1990s Corexcel began to move its public seminar offerings into an online format. A move was put into place to offer training resources for organizations to use to present their own training sessions. In early 2000 Corexcel became a distributor for Inscape Publishing, formerly Carlson Learning and now Wiley, and an affiliate of Vital Learning Corporation. In 2013 Corexcel partnered with MindEdge Learning to offer online business related certificate programs and courses. Since 2007 Corexcel has been one of Wiley's Diamond Distributors which represent the top 1% in product sales worldwide. In 2000, and most recently in 2011, Corexcel has been recognized as a Marvin S. Gilman Superstar in Business award winner by the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.

Corexcel offers paper-based and online assessment profiles published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., formerly published by Inscape Publishing. Organizations use the psychometric assessments to improve communication, build teams, improve cultural understanding, promote diversity, build time management skills and improve listening. Online Medical Courses

Since 2000, Corexcel has been offering online medical courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology and Introduction to ECG, to name a few. Prior to 2000 and for a few years thereafter, these courses were presented as instructor-led programs. In 2000, most of their medical courses were converted to an online format to serve a broader audience. As of August 2016, the company will add Medical Coding and Billing to its catalog of online medical courses. Many of Corexcel's online medical courses give students an option to obtain college credit for an additional fee. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are issued to all students who successfully complete the courses.
